Developed in the 1930s the M3 Stuart was already approaching obsolescence by the outbreak of World War 2. It served in great numbers with the British Army and US Army in the Western Desert from 1941 and saw service thereafter from Europe to the Pacific but mainly in a reconnaissance role.
